Open Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and school holidays, 10am to 5pm sometimes later. 

Aviaries are set in 2 1/2  acres of beautiful gardens offering the opportunity for excellent viewing, and the chance to take photographs of the birds or the park itself. Most visitors enjoy talking to our resident chatter box, Joey jnr. , a white cockatoo who is always pleased to see people.

The price to enter the Bird park is $3.50 per Adult, $1.50 Children and Pre-Schoolers are Free.

The tearooms are spacious well-ventilated and are cool in the summer, with large ranch-sliders opening onto decks which over look the bird park. Tables and chairs are provided inside and also outside on the deck. Excellent views of the park can be had from both the tearooms and the deck itself. A wide variety of country food is available at very competitive prices. All pastries, savouries and pies are home-made on the premises.

Tour groups and functions of all sizes can be catered for, indoor and covered veranda seating for up to 70 people, and outdoor seating for large groups. Ring and talk to us about how we can accommodate your group.

The bird park is located on the scenic Awhitu peninsula which has boundaries on the beautiful Manukau Harbour to the east, and the Tasman sea to the west. The peninsula offers spectacular views and has beaches to suit everyone, from wild west coast surf beaches to tranquil sandy beaches.
